I will do it!

READINGMy goal for this week, Monday to Monday, is to read 1 book.  Just one.  Is that really so much to ask?

Since I began my journey as an author I have found that my one love of reading has been pushed aside.  Time constraints, self imposed deadlines, life, a family…yeah, there really isn’t time for me to stay up to all hours of the night reading.  I find that I have time to look through homesteading magazines because they are quick to read articles that I don’t have to become invested in, but books…sigh, oh how I miss thee!

So…what book would you recommend I read this week?  I have a ton on my book shelf and my virtual shelf but I’m finding it nearly impossible to choose.  I would love some suggestions.  What’s the best book you have read recently?

    1. No, I haven’t had time to read ANYTHING. I have a TBR list a mile long and it just keeps getting longer. I’ll have to check that out.
I tend to read what I write so I’m a fantasy, mythology, dystopian kind of gal. I’m not big into romance unless there’s a lot of action, and not the bedroom sort haha

  1. The Fever series by Karen Marie Moning is another fantastic series. I know you only want to read one book, but maybe you can just read one each time you get time to read. 🙂

  2. Get any, I finished several… All good! ‘Inky’ Book1 and ‘cole book 2 Good reading!!! ‘Carter Reed’ loved this book, I so didn’t think I was going to like it, but surprised me, loved it! ‘ Lovely’ was the other one

  3. I’m currently reading Magan Vernon’s “The Only Exception.” Fabulously written keeps your attention and I just love her characters. Would normally be finished with books at a faster rate but life keeps making me grudgingly set my books aside. Great read!!

  4. If you want a stand alone book here are a few of my favorites, they vary from contemporary romance, young romance, romance but with character that has suffered in the past, to a romantic comedy. You will have to let me know if you want paranormal suggestions but thought I would suggest something different then what you write currently. So the books are: Emancipating Andie by Priscilla Glenn, If You Stay by Courtney Cole, My Life Next Door by Huntley Fitzpatrick, Watch Over Me by Tara Sivec, Sea of Tranquility by Katja, Millay, and Wallbanger by Alice Clayton. I have many suggestions of books that are part of series too so just ask if you want any suggestions for these kind. Hope you find something you enjoy. Anita

    1. Thank you so much, Anita. I do find at times that it is refreshing to read books outside of my norm. I am generally surprised by how much I enjoy them.

  5. Okay lets try this again. I only have one stand alone book that I can think of off the top of my head in the genres you said you like and it is the book The Last Girl by Kitty Thomas, now I have several series like The Premonition Series is one of my favorites by Amy Bartol, The Captive Series by Erica Stevens, Fallen series by Lauren Kate, and The Crescent Chronicles by Alyssa Rose Ivy. If I can think of any other stand alone books in these genres I will let you know. Sorry about the other suggestions.

    1. I love Amy Bartol. She is super sweet and I’ve got all of her books sitting on my shelf but have yet to dig into them because I know once I do I will shove aside my own books to devour hers. I have read the entire Fallen series and found that I preferred the older books to the most recently released ones. I have yet to read anything of Erica Stevens or Alyssa Rose Ivy so I will check those out. Thanks so much 🙂
