People sometimes ask me what I love most about writing.  It’s hard to pick just one thing.  But if I really have to think about it…there can only truly be one answer: The opportunity to pay it forward.

If you have followed my blog for a while now, you know that I like to promote self-pubbed authors.  I love to do author interviews, book reviews and post general helpful information to encourage other authors.

This morning I woke up to a lovely email from a new author asking for advice.  Despite my insanely busy day, I was happy to put everything on hold to respond.

Why?  Because this is what I love to do.

In November it will be my 1 year anniversary for self-publication and there is so much that I have learned.  Through teaching my writers group, countless hours researching online and going through the hard knocks of rejection.  What sort of writer would I be not to turn around help others?

So my goal is to always pay it forward.   It’s the right thing to do.  We authors need to stick together.
