I spoke with an indie author today on Facebook about a post comment that she made about having some editing issues on her uploaded novel to Amazon.  Turns out, she has a cyber stalker.

I gotta admit this threw me.  I realize that I’m not exactly the most tech savvy person in the world but I had no clue that someone could actually hack into your computer and rewrite parts of your book.  That’s insane on so many levels!

But it got me to thinking…how many times do we overlook the threats of online interaction?  I know I’ve got anti virus software scanning my computer at random times throughtout the week (which is really annoying that we even have to deal with this junk) but to have an actual person decide to take control of your computer is mind blowing to me.  (I know, you computer junkies are probably laughing at my naivety right now, aren’t you?)

Have you ever had to deal a problem like this?  I’m just curious.
