D-Day has arrived

D-Day (Dance Day) has finally arrived.  In about 3 hours my family and I will pack up the car and head to our hotel to anxiously await 5am tomorrow morning.  How many times can you actually say you are looking forward to 5am?

Would you like to know one of the worst parts about taking a charter flight for vacation, internationally?  You have to be there 3 hours early.  Now thats nothing new to us.  We fly to England every year and so the 3 hour wait is just a given.  But THIS 3 hour wait is different.  Everyone seems to arrive at the airport at exactly the same time.  So an entire flight tries to smash through the doors, vying for the best spot in line.  This is what I dread the most.

And then of course, because you have to be there SO STINKING EARLY, most of the cute little shops aren’t even open.  How am I supposed to keep my 5 year old occupied for 3 hours before the 4 hour flight?  Thank you to the maker of LeapPad and the little pink bunny that promises I will have enough battery life for this flight!

Oh, and the other thing about charter flights…they are BYOS (bring your own snacks.)

But, I don’t want you to feel sorry for my hardships.  I’m sure we will manage 🙂

So how about you?  Are you going anywhere this spring/summer?  I’d love to hear about it.  We are always looking for new spots to consider, although the Dominican Republic is our favorite so far.
