Writing tipsBelieving in yourself when few others do is a hard road to take. We all want to be loved, to know that we matter but life isn’t a fairytale and our prince charming doesn’t always understand or support our dreams in the beginning. Life has a way of telling you that you’re not good enough, but I’m here to tell you that YOU ARE.  No dream is too little or unachievable.

Four years ago I decided to follow my passion for writing. My husband didn’t understand. Most people thought it was nothing more than a fun hobby but I knew I wanted more. That is when I had to stand up and believe in myself. When I decided to show the world what I was made of and lovingly teach my husband about the literary world that I loved so much.

It wasn’t an easy journey. I had a passion for writing but I didn’t have a fancy degree in creative writing or editing. I had a story that needed to be told but no clue how to find an agent, write a query letter or self-publish. I was a newbie without a clue.

Google to the rescue!

I’ve learned a heck of a lot in the past few years. I’ve made mistakes. Learned valuable lessons in the need for quality editing, cover design and marketing. I’ve learned that thick skin is earned and not something you are born with. I’ve learned that social media, although a brilliant way to stay in contact with readers, can be the very schedule buster you fear the most.

THE WRITE STUFF is an ongoing series of writing tips of what I have learned along the way. This will be available ONLY through my newsletter so make sure you sign up today.  I hope that these posts will help to encourage, inspire and teach you a path you can take to get your own words out.

  1. Great site you have here but I was curious about if you knew of
any community forums that cover the same topics talked about in this article?
I’d really like to be a part of group where I can get opinions from other experienced
people that share the same interest. If you have any recommendations, please let me know.

    Bless you!
